Stop Action
The objective of this assignment was to have students capture "stop action" with an intersting subject in motion. This project also taught students more about their camera. Students had to adjust the ISO based on the lighting, chose a fast shutter speed to capture a clear stop action, as well as balancing their light meter and shutter speed with their aperture, which was typically larger. Peyton's approach was to shoot where she knew there was a lot of action that she could capture. For example, her volleyball tournaments and her dogs playing in the yard. Peyton's favorite picture is Stop 1. She likes this picture because of how clearly she got the action as well as the placement of the player and the ball. She thinks it is a really interesting picture because it showcases a great moment of the game. Peyton also likes the short series she got of her dog in pictures Stop 4, 5, and 6. She likes these pictures because they clearly have stopped her dog mid jump as well as the ball in the air.
